Third Years

Third year residents focus on leading resuscitations, teaching medical students, and spend the entire year in the ED with some time spent at our local community sites. There's also time for electives built into your third year to explore other interests within the scope of Emergency Medicine.

Favorite Western MA activity? Just moved up here, so still getting to know the area but super excited for ski season!

What one thing would you take from the ED in a zombie apocalypse? Turkey Sandwich, I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten one almost every day of my life.

If you weren't an EM physician, what would you do? If I wasn’t in medicine, I would have found a lot of fulfillment in working in the renewable energy sector. I also considered a career in the military.

Julianne Earle, DO (she/her)

Favorite thing to do in your free time? One of my favorite things to do is cook, but also love to do DIY/home improvement

Favorite movie/tv show? Favorite movie is definitely Titanic (corny, I know, but I've loved it since I was 5 years old). Favorite TV show is either Jane the Virgin or One Day at a Time, Friday Night Lights

Favorite place to travel? ANYWHERE. Domestic, International, wherever. I love seeing new places. Anywhere with a beach is usually my preference

Favorite food? Anything that tastes good.. your girl isn't picky! But big fan of Portuguese, Mexican, and Indian food

If you weren't an EM physician, what would you do? I'd probably either be a teacher or be selling hot dogs on a beach. Or both. Hot dogs and the ocean are just a great combo

Random fact? I eat a Klondike by peeling all the chocolate off to eat it first, then I eat the vanilla ice cream after that 

Favorite Western MA activity? TJ's Burritos.. Also everything fall related because it's my favorite season. And my current favorite thing is the farmer's market I found just down the road from where I live

Favorite thing about Baystate? I am constantly so impressed by the genuine kindness and support from everyone here. It's so inspiring and makes me feel so accepted and part of the team. It's truly rare to find a workplace that cares so much about you and your wellbeing outside of medicine, and to have coworkers that are genuinely interested in knowing your family/upbringing and what makes you, you. I feel so lucky to be here every day.

What one thing would you take from the ED in a zombie apocalypse? Definitely the whole code cart... Enough drugs and tools to fight off any zombie!
